The construction work of Gauritar Stadium, which is the biggest project of Nepali sports, has gained momentum. Minister of Youth and Sports of Wagmati Province, Meenkrishna Maharjan, inspected the stadium and instructed to complete the entire infrastructure construction within the stipulated time.

Cricket, football field and swimming pool are being constructed in Gauritar located in Hetaunda-6. Minister Maharjan has expressed his happiness that the work of the cricket ground and swimming pool, which was laid the foundation stone in last Baisakh, has been speeded up.

The state government has started construction by allocating a budget of 12 million rupees for the construction of the cricket stadium and 9 million rupees for the construction of the swimming pool since the last financial year. sports, the state government will immediately invite the construction company and direct them to complete the work quickly. He said that the provincial government has set a goal to work on the development of the Khalkud sector along with the sports infrastructure and the encouragement of players.

He has also given instructions to attend the representatives of the company responsible for the construction of the two sports structures being built inside the stadium. Due to the weakness of the state bodies and the lack of vigilance of the ministers, the sports structures are stalled, so he suggested to stop it.

Gauritar Stadium gaining momentum The work has been started according to the plan to construct 19 different sports-related structures in Gauritar Stadium. With the country moving to a federal structure, the budget for the construction of the stadium is under the provincial government. A DPR is being prepared with a cost estimate of Rs 90 crore for football ground, athletics track and field, VIP parapet and floodlights.

During the inspection, the secretary of the ministry, Rudraprasad Lamichhane, and the engineer of the State Sports Council, Nisheva Bertaula, gave a briefing. At that time, the National Sports Council had started the construction of a sports complex to develop it as a Central Sports Academy (Gauritar Stadium).

The council is planning to build football, volleyball, cricket ground, swimming pool, dormitory, administrative building and other structures in this stadium, which is going to be built with the aim of keeping Nepali athletes participating in national and international level sports competitions in closed training.
