Tiptop Help Nepal Sports Club and Nepal Police Club have become the 8th Prime Minister's Cup NVA women's and men's volleyball league champions. Both teams defended their titles in the finals of the league held on Saturday at Rakhep Covered Hall in Tripureshwar. Help Nepal won the men's title and Police Club won the women's title.
Help Nepal won the title after defeating the undefeated Yatra finalist Gandaki Pradesh in 3-1 sets. The team also avenged the defeat suffered in the league stage. Help Nepal only lost the match against Gandaki in the league. The match was won by Gandaki in a competitive set of 3-2. In the
final, Help Nepal scored 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20. Along with becoming the champion, Help Nepal has won a prize of 8 lakh rupees. Gandaki got Rs 4 lakh.
The women's final became competitive. In the final against the Everest Volleyball Club of Butwal, the departmental team Police won two consecutive sets and lost two sets. Police defended their title by coming back in the last set. Police won the final 25-21, 25-23, 20-25, 20-25, 15-12.
Police also took revenge for the league stage with Everest. In the league, Everest won 3-1 sets against Police and reached the finals without defeat. Due to that defeat, Police became runners-up and reached the title clash. Along with the title, police won Rs 8 lakh and Everest won Rs 4 lakh.
For men, Nepal Police Club won 2 lakh by coming third. Police defeated departmental rival Army by 31-29, 13-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-8. Police's successful Bick was the player of the match.
APF club won the third place match for women. APF won the match against Tribhuvan Army easily by 25-19, 25-20, 25-19. M Raja was the player of the match. Help Nepal received a prize of 2 lakh rupees. Mubasar Raja Wato of Help Nepal and Usha Bhandari of Police became the best players in the
competition. Both received 50,000 each.
Help Nepal's Top Bahadur Thapa West Libero, Ednan Khan West Setter and Utsav Khadka became the best coaches. Gandaki's Raman Kumar West Server and Santosh West were chosen Spiker, while Police's successful buy was the best blocker. On the women's side, the police killed three category titles. Shantikala Tamang West Libero, Kamala Pun Best Setter and Rupesh Bist West Coach. KP Anushree of Everest was selected as the best spiker, S Surya as the west blocker and Niruta Thagunna of APF was selected as the best server. The best player in the
category received a prize of 20,000 rupees. The winners of the tournament organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association were awarded by National Sports Council Member Secretary Tanklal Ghising, Association President Jitendra Bahadur Chand and others.
