The nomination process for 51 central members and office bearers of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party is set to move forward. Party President Rabi Lamichhane has called a meeting of the central committee for the nomination of central members and subsequently office bearers.
According to Party General Secretary Bipin Acharya, the central committee meeting has been called for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the 13th of Saun.
General Secretary Acharya stated that the first phase of nominations will take place at the central committee meeting. "The first phase of nominations will be held. The exact number of central members and office bearers has not yet been finalized. Both central members and office bearers will be nominated," Acharya said.
Five agendas have been set for the central committee meeting. Acharya informed that discussions will be held on five agendas: a comprehensive review of the recently concluded general convention, formulation and amendment of necessary procedures, organizational management and nominations, operation of upcoming campaigns and programs, and miscellaneous topics.
According to the party statute, 51 central members will be nominated by the president and 99 central members have been elected by the general convention.
