An agreement has been reached between the CPN-UML and the Nepal Communist Party regarding the formation and operation of provincial governments.
On Saturday, UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and Nepal Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal signed an agreement to form joint governments in the provincial assemblies through cooperation.
According to the agreement, the UML will lead the governments in Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces, while the Nepal Communist Party will lead the governments in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Similarly, it is stated that in Madhesh and Gandaki provinces, the leadership and composition of the government will be determined in consultation with other political parties represented in the provincial assemblies.
The agreement states that it was reached with the aim of resolving misunderstandings seen in the provincial assemblies during budget formulation, irregularities in budget allocation, unhealthy political competition, and other issues, and to accelerate political stability, good governance, prosperity, and provincial development.
