At a program organized on the occasion of Pushpalal Memorial Day, leader Dahal said, ”Enemies have been deceiving us for 20 years by making plans to 'fix' the communists in Nepal. Because of our mistakes, they have exploited that weakness and fed opium to the Nepali people as well.”

Coordinator of the CPN, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has said that the communist movement has been weakening because they have not been able to continuously provide ideological schooling to the new generation. He made these remarks at a seminar on ‘The Role of Leftist Parties in the Current Political Situation’ organized in Kathmandu on Friday on the occasion of Pushpalal Memorial Day.
He said that the ideological aspect has become weak as communist forces have become entangled in strategies of forming governments and power-sharing arrangements. He also commented that the country is heading toward a geopolitical crisis because they failed to realize in time that foreign powers have long been devising strategies to mislead the country and the people.
Recalling how Chinese imperialist forces weakened the Chinese people through opium addiction and took control of their resources, he argued that the same event is being repeated in Nepal’s recent politics. He remarked that, by exploiting the weaknesses of leftist and democratic forces, the Nepali people too have been made to consume opium.
He said, “To put it synthetically, we communists made a mistake. We did not pay attention to the need to continuously provide ideological schooling to the youth. The enemies have been making plans for 20 years to set the communists right in Nepal and have been misleading us. Because of our mistakes, they exploited that weakness and made the Nepali people consume opium as well. I do not intend to insult the people. What kind of opium? Through algorithm manipulation on social media.”
Stating that efforts are being made to influence the new generation through ‘algorithm manipulation’ on social networks, he emphasized that communist forces must launch an ideological campaign to counter this. He also said that left unity is not possible without ensuring its sustainability.
