Kongress President Gagan Thapa has announced that leader Gopalman Shrestha will be made Senior Leader. At a program organized on the occasion of BP Memorial Day on Thursday, President Thapa said that the announcement to make Shrestha Senior Leader was made with the intention of having it approved by the upcoming Central Working Committee meeting.
Shrestha, who was also the acting president of the then Congress (Democratic), had left the former president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s faction and participated in the special general convention held last Poush. Shrestha is currently battling a serious illness. Thapa wished him a speedy recovery during the program.
