Former Prime Minister and former Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that he will return home soon. He informed about his return home on social media on Tuesday. Deuba and his wife and former Foreign Minister Arju Rana have been living in Hong Kong.

Stating that the government could become vindictive and undemocratic, Deuba said that he will have full faith and dedication in the democratic consciousness, patriotism and faith in justice of the Nepali people. He wrote, 'I am returning home with a heartfelt appeal to all political forces, civil society, the young generation and the general Nepali people to stand firmly in favor of nationalism, democracy and socialism as well as constitutionalism, and once again assuring them of my loyalty, commitment and dedication.'

Deuba also said that the need for unity of mind, national dialogue and common cooperation among the experience gained from history, the energy of change and the creative potential of the new generation endowed with technology and knowledge has become more relevant today than ever. 'Rising above the politics of revenge and prohibition, nation building and a shared future should be our common resolve. With this belief, I am stepping back onto Nepali soil,' he said.
