Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has drawn the government's attention to making necessary preparations to minimize the risk of disasters such as floods, landslides and inundation that may increase with the onset of the monsoon.
In the House of Representatives meeting held on Tuesday, Speaker Aryal directed the government to engage in effective preparedness, relief and rescue work to reduce the human and material damage caused by possible natural disasters.
Speaker Aryal said, "With the onset of this year's monsoon, the number of disasters such as floods, landslides and inundation has started to increase. I draw the government's attention to making effective disaster preparedness, relief and rescue arrangements and easy and safe vehicle movement to minimize the human and material damage caused by such incidents."
He has also alerted the government to protect the lives and property of citizens during disasters and make transportation services uninterrupted and safe.
