The Department of Money Laundering Investigation has issued a public notice to former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba's son Jaybir Deuba to appear for a statement within a week.

The department has issued a notice in Gorkhapatra asking him to appear for a statement. Earlier, the department had pasted a letter at Deuba's ruined house in Budhanilkantha on Monday asking him to come for a statement.

The letter states that Jaybir has been summoned as an investigation into money laundering is underway. The department had earlier also issued and pasted warrants in the names of Sher Bahadur Deuba and Arju Rana Deuba.

A complaint was filed against Jaybir for his involvement in irregularities in Nepal Telecom and passport contracts. A warrant for a statement has been issued in his name for the same investigation.
