Sobita Gautam, who was elected as the vice-president of the National Independent Party (NISP), has said that the competition will be limited only to the results and that everyone will move forward as one family from tomorrow.
Praising her closest rival Dr. Toshima Karki, she said, ‘We competed healthily since the election is a democratic process.’ Dr. Karki also said that they are a family.
Speaking to Kantipur, Vice-President Gautam addressed Karki as a capable leader and said that they will join the regular work of the party from tomorrow. In another context, she said that the party is above the government and that the party is the main source and that ministers or other posts will be held only after the party gives responsibility. ‘Since the party’s principles and policies guide the operation of the government, the first priority will be on party building,’ she said.
She also expressed her commitment to keep the government moving and provide the people with quick justice and prosperity. Stating that a new team has come to the party for the first time, Gautam said that this team will decide how to take the party forward.
Gautam was elected as the Vice President with 789 votes through electronic voting machines and online voting by representatives of the diaspora on Friday, while his competitor Toshima Karki received 572 votes.
