Voting for the central members of the National Independent Party is set to begin at 10:30 pm on Wednesday. Bhuvan KC, the head of the RSP Election Commission, has issued a notice at 10:30 pm on Wednesday and informed that the voting for the central members will begin at 10:30 pm.

The voting period has been set to continue until 10:00 am on Thursday. 'The Election Commission will complete all necessary preparations to conduct the voting in an orderly, transparent and fair manner at the specified time. We sincerely request all the concerned representatives to exercise their voting rights within the specified time,' the notice issued by the Election Commission Chief KC reads, 'The representatives will be informed separately about the polling stations, digital ballots and other arrangements of the election process. We expect everyone's cooperation to make the election successful.'

A mike has been placed at the closed session venue to announce the start of the voting. As soon as the mike has been placed, the representatives have started lining up to vote. There is a provision in the RSP statute that the election of the RSP President and 99 central members will be held in the first phase. Ravi Lamichhane has been elected unopposed as the only candidate for the post of President. Initial information was given that 384 candidates had filed for the 99 central member posts. It has not been made public how many of them withdrew their candidacies and how many were rejected.
