Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has expressed his best wishes on the occasion of the first national convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP), saying that the convention is a 'historic opportunity' in terms of ideology, organization and policy.
In a congratulatory message on Monday via Facebook, Thapa noted that the RSWP has established itself strongly in national politics with significant public support within a short period of the party's establishment.
'This journey from organization formation to elections under your leadership is commendable,' Thapa said in the message.
He said that the first convention is a 'historic opportunity for the RSWP to build a more mature, responsible and visionary vision in terms of ideology, organization and policy.'
Thapa expressed his belief that the convention will help the party to assimilate democratic values and practices and protect the constitutionally guaranteed civil rights, making it more clear, accountable and responsive.
'I expect that this convention will provide momentum and energy to make the party ideologically clear, accountable and more responsive to imbibe democratic values and practices and protect the constitutionally guaranteed civil rights,' he said.
