Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the Congress is not the enemy of the National Independent Party but the main competitor. Addressing the inaugural session of the first national convention of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party in Bharatpur, Chitwan, President Thapa said that there is no hostile relationship between the Congress and the Rashtriya Swatantra Party despite the competition. He also claimed that he was greedy after seeing the public opinion of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party and wanted to make the Congress taller than the Rashtriya Swatantra Party. He said that he wanted to achieve political heights by working honestly and not by weakening others. What did Gagan say? Congress is a competitor of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, not an enemy. We will compete. We want to be taller. We are greedy after seeing your height. But we want to be taller than you. We will become taller one day. But not by making you small and cutting off your legs. We want to rise high by working honestly in mind, word and deed.
We want to be clean but not by showing you dirt. We want to be clean by removing the stench within our party. We are not your enemies. We are competitors in Parliament. Where questions need to be raised, where fingers need to be pointed, we point fingers. Where slaps need to be slapped, we slap.
