The central committee meeting of the National Independent Party (NISP) is being held in Bharatpur on Saturday at 11 am. This is the last meeting of the central committee before the general convention starting on Sunday.

According to a central member of the NISP, the meeting will discuss preparations for the general convention, amendments to the statute, and current issues.

Earlier, a secretariat meeting held at the central office on Thursday under the chairmanship of President Rabi Lamichhane had decided to increase the number of central committees and include a provision for senior leaders in the statute.  It was decided to make the number of central members 158 (7 provincial committee presidents are ex-officio central members).

The inaugural program of the NISP general convention is being held at the Guest House Chaur in Bharatpur, while the closed session is being held at the Chitwan Industry Association Industrial Exhibition Center opposite the Guest House Chaur.
