The inaugural program of the first national convention of the National Independent Party (NISP) is to be held at the Guest House Chaur in Bharatpur. The inaugural program is to be held inside a 'German Hangar' with a roof that blocks sunlight. The 'German Hangar' is a temporary but strong tent. The aluminum structure has a 'tensile fabric' roof. This will protect it from sunlight, wind and fire.

The NISP convention, which will be inaugurated on Sunday, will end on Tuesday. The closing session of the convention has been scheduled to be held at the Chitwan Industry Association's Industrial Exhibition Center near the Guest House Chaur. Earlier, preparations were made to hold the opening and closing sessions at the Star Hotel in Tandi Nipani, Ratnanagar. A bamboo pavilion was being prepared on the land behind the hotel.

After 70 percent of the work on the construction of the pavilion was completed, the work was asked to stop on Monday afternoon. The general convention program is scheduled to be held in Bharatpur on Tuesday. Although the party decided to hold the closed session at the exhibition center, an agreement could not be reached between the association and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh due to some technical issues. Association President Madan Ghimire said that the association has given permission to hold the closed session because that issue has also been resolved.

RSP General Convention: 'German Hangar' preparing for the opening ceremony

Chitwan Industry Association has taken the land under the Ministry of Industry to build an exhibition center on the condition that it will be used for industrial exhibition and promotion, said Chitwan Industry Association President Ghimire. After seeing that the conditions were not met during the party's general convention, the association had requested the ministry for facilitation. Accordingly, the association has received a letter from the ministry.

The ministry has sent a letter to the association requesting that the association's assembly hall be made available for the closed session of the party's general convention, keeping in mind the security sensitivity, as local dignitaries as well as very distinguished guests from foreign countries will be participating. The association is ready to provide a hall for the closed session as per the request of the ministry and the district security committee.

Three sections of the ‘German Hangar’ will be prepared for the inauguration program, capable of holding 5,000 chairs. Kathmandu-based Media Space Solutions is constructing the structures. Shreejal Bhattarai, managing director of Media Space Solutions, which has already constructed such structures for other exhibitions including the Pokhara Literature Festival, said. The main section will be 20 meters wide and 75 meters long.

Two additional sections, 20 meters wide and 30 meters long, will be built on the right and left of the main section. The top height of the two-winged hangar will be 24 feet and the side height will be 16 feet. A ‘hangar’ will be prepared at the inauguration venue, capable of holding 5,000 chairs as well as people without chairs.

German Hanger Tent is a temporary structure used for various events, exhibitions, product launches, cultural programs and weddings. It is mainly made using aluminum spans. German Hanger is widely used in large public and commercial events as it is strong, durable and can be installed quickly. The word ‘hanger’ is believed to have come from the Middle French word hanghart, which means a fenced structure near the house.

Bhattarai informed that the hangar will be built in an area of about 30,000 square feet to protect from sunlight and rain and not be damaged by wind. It is estimated that 10-12 thousand people can fit inside the German Hanger. The heat in Chitwan is very high. The organizer informed that since it is the rainy season, the program can be affected in the open field, so the organizer has prepared a strong structure, even though it is temporary.

Rajan Gautam, a central member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) who is the coordinator of the accommodation and food subcommittee, said that about 1,500 hotel rooms are required for the delegates coming to the general convention. Since there are not many hotels in Bharatpur, the delegates will have to be accommodated in hotels in Sauraha and other areas of the district.

The delegates will bear the hotel expenses themselves. Gautam said that since the details of hotels in Chitwan, their services, facilities and prices have been informed to the delegates, the delegates will have the facility to choose and book the hotel themselves. The party will arrange for food and refreshments. Gautam informed that food and refreshments will be arranged for the delegates at the closed session venue.
