Labor Culture Party Chairman Harkaraj Rai has demanded that the government make arrangements for resettling the squatters in their original places by using dozers. In a meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Chairman Rai said that the squatters displaced by terror are facing a shortage of food and water in the holding centers and warned the government to provide them relief and make immediate arrangements for resettlement.
'They made the squatters and unorganized settlers homeless by using dozers. The situation is dire. Currently, there is a shortage of food and water in holding centers including Kirtipur. They are also Nepalese citizens. We are seeing the scene of them protesting. The government should immediately pay attention to that. Relief should be provided where relief is provided and management should be taken in places that need to be managed,' Rai said.
He also said that the budget for city management and other issues this time has been left out. He further said, 'My demand is that if they were resettled where they were, with a good city plan, the government would have been applauded.'
