UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has admitted that the party's propaganda style is becoming defensive with the rapid development of information technology.

Addressing the handover of responsibility of the Publicity and Publication Department organized at the party central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur on Monday, General Secretary Pokharel mentioned that the party, which was effective in propaganda work in the past, has fallen behind a bit in recent days.

'Earlier we were effective in propaganda work, but recently we have become a little defensive in propaganda work. The reason for this is also clear. Especially as information technology is developing, the influence of the new generation who use information technology effectively is also increasing. The participation of the new generation is comparatively less with us. Whoever has more participation of that generation is more effective. Whoever has less is less effective,' he said.

General Secretary Pokharel says there is a gap in the use of platforms to create content and communicate it effectively.

'Those who have popular platforms in their hands are reaching the public with a lot of information and ideas through them. In that sense, I think that those who can develop the ability to create content and make maximum use of popular platforms can present their ideas effectively in today's information and communication sector, especially on social media,' he said.
