Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has informed that the meeting of the Joint Working Group on Border Management (JWGB) on Nepal-India border management will be held in August 2026.
Giving a clarification on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Khanal said that various bilateral mechanisms established to make coordination, cooperation and partnership between Nepal and India more effective have been reactivated.
‘The meetings of these bilateral mechanisms established to work in various areas of Nepal-India are currently underway.’ The meeting of the Joint Working Group on Border Management is being held in August 2026. Currently, the Joint Field Survey Team is working in various places. As per the responsibility given to this mechanism, the work of repairing, restoring and reconstructing the lost border pillars has progressed. Currently, four separate teams have been formed and work is underway in various areas of the Nepal-India border,' he said.
