The House of Representatives meeting has begun after a week of deadlock. The House of Representatives meeting, which was postponed due to the Prime Minister's statement on the border, resumed on Wednesday.
Although the meeting was called at 11 am on Wednesday, Speaker DP Aryal had adjourned it to 2 pm, seeking consensus. However, the meeting began at 3:15 pm. However, Labor Culture Party Chairman Harkaraj Rai said that the Prime Minister himself should clarify his statement. 'We have come to hear the Foreign Minister answer on behalf of the Prime Minister. We do not agree with this. It is about making the post of Prime Minister responsible. Our demand is nothing else. It is not fair for him not to come here, or for someone else to give a clarification, it is not in accordance with the constitution. What is his own opinion? If he does not come here to speak, he should have sent his opinion in writing. Otherwise, we do not agree with the fact that one person makes a mistake and the other corrects it,' he said.
The House of Representatives meeting was disrupted since Jestha 19 after Prime Minister Balendra Shah's statement.
Speaker DP Aryal had held discussions with opposition party leaders to resolve the obstruction in the parliament. Speaker Aryal held discussions with the main opposition party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe, UML parliamentary party leader Ram Bahadur Thapa, NCP MP Barshaman Pun, opposition party chief whips and whips in his office on Wednesday.
According to the leaders participating in the discussion, the parties have agreed that Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal will clarify the border dispute raised by Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Jestha 17. Parties including the Congress, NCP, RPP have shown flexibility in the foreign minister's response on behalf of the government regarding the Prime Minister's statement.
Prime Minister Shah had said in the House of Representatives meeting on Jestha 17, 'You may find one thing surprising. I also came to know after becoming Prime Minister recently that not only India has encroached on Nepal's land, but Nepal has also encroached on India's land in many places.'
