The meeting called by the President of the ruling National Independent Party, Ravi Lamichhane, to resolve the obstruction in parliament has not been able to reach an agreement. Opposition parties have been obstructing the House over Prime Minister Balendra Shah's statement on the border with India in parliament on Jestha 17.

The House of Representatives meeting called for 11 am on Wednesday was adjourned until 2 pm after posting a notice. After adjourning the meeting, President Lamichhane held discussions with the leaders of the opposition parties.

In the meeting with President Lamichhane, the opposition parties demanded that the Prime Minister come to Parliament and express their views. 'They say that they cannot speak about their statements by making the Prime Minister present in Parliament. We have proposed an alternative that if the Prime Minister himself cannot come, a minister can come and read the written statement,' said UML Chief Whip Ain Bahadur Mahar. 'They are not confused.' The opposition parties are in consultation on how to move forward after the discussion with Speaker Lamichhane.'

RSP whip Krantishikha Dhital said that there is a strong possibility of an agreement. She said that there is a possibility that the House will open today after the Speaker has discussed with the opposition parties. 'The ruling party and the opposition are in discussions. There is a possibility of reaching an agreement,' she said, 'The opposition parties have said that the Prime Minister's statement should come.'

RSP said that Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal should be allowed to express his opinion on behalf of the government in Parliament on the issues raised by the Prime Minister. 'The Foreign Minister speaks in Parliament. In that process, if we are not convinced even after listening to what the government has to say, we will move on to the next stage,' Dhital said.

Prime Minister Shah's statement in Parliament on Jestha 17, 'You may find one thing surprising, I also came to know recently after becoming Prime Minister, that India has not only encroached on Nepal's land, but Nepal has also encroached on India's land in many places' has caused controversy.    The meetings of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly have been disrupted since Jestha 19.  The Prime Minister has not yet prepared to come to Parliament to speak on the issue, while the opposition parties have been insisting that the Prime Minister himself should come and clarify his statement  .

The meeting of the House of Representatives called for 11 am was adjourned by posting a notice   On the instructions of Speaker DP Aryal, General Secretary Padma Prasad Pandey posted a notice stating that the meeting of the House of Representatives called for 11 am was adjourned until 2 pm
