The House of Representatives meeting has been postponed. The meeting, which began at 1 pm on Tuesday, was postponed after opposition parties continued their protests.
Speaker DP Aryal has scheduled the next meeting of the House of Representatives for 11 am on Wednesday.
The opposition parties are protesting against the statement made by Prime Minister Balendra Shah in the House of Representatives on Jestha 17. They are demanding that the Prime Minister clarify the statement in the Parliament itself. Prime Minister Shah had said in the House of Representatives meeting on Jestha 17, 'You may find one thing surprising. I also came to know about it after becoming the Prime Minister recently, that India has not only encroached on Nepal's land, but Nepal has also encroached on India's land in many places.'
The opposition parties have been obstructing the meetings since then, demanding clarification on the statement made by Nepal that it had encroached on India's land. The Prime Minister has not yet responded in the House of Representatives. Government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel has said that Prime Minister Shah is ready to answer in Parliament if necessary. Spokesperson Pokharel gave the answer after Tuesday's meeting of the Council of Ministers.
