Dron Khadka has been elected as the district president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) Rukum West at the first district convention held on Sunday night. Khadka was elected by defeating Pustaka Chand by 12 votes in the election competition held last night.
The election committee has stated that 73 votes were cast out of a total of 113 voters. According to the committee, Khadka received 42 votes while his competitor Chand received 30 votes.
Rim Prasad Sharma has been elected as the vice president. Sharma was elected after defeating competitors Rabindra Kumar Bista, Thakendra Giri and Ghamanda Bahadur Chand Shikhar.
Dipendra Raj Bista was elected as the secretary, defeating competitor Nawaraj Malla, while Prem Bantha Magar won as the joint secretary, defeating Sashe Khatri Saroj and Padam Dadel.
Similarly, in the election held for five members, Neeraj Giri, Yamraj Dangi, Lok Bahadur Giri, Binod Batala and Ramesh Giri were elected. Kalpana Bista and Sunita KC have been elected unopposed as members, while Padam Dadel has been nominated as a district member, according to the RSP Rukum West.
The newly elected office bearers and members were administered the oath by RSP Karnali Province General Secretary Lalit Chand. In addition, certificates have been distributed to them.
