The Congress has stated that 417,000 active members have been updated till Monday. Out of 782,209 eligible members eligible for the active membership update process, 417,753 have updated, the press release issued by the Congress states.
It is also mentioned that an additional 98,143 people have started the process by filling out the form themselves. It is stated that more than 515,000 members have already participated in the update process by filling out the form.
A meeting held on Monday under the chairmanship of Congress Membership Management Central Committee Coordinator and General Secretary Pradeep Poudel has set the deadline for the period up to 28 Jestha. Members who have been updated through the digital system will be provided with a Congress ID with a unique identification number, which will be used as the basis for participating in the upcoming general convention.
The meeting also decided that those who have been taken into action by the disciplinary committee, who have joined other parties or who have filed rebel candidacies will be removed from the central records based on their membership proof.
It has also been clarified that if the membership is found to have been updated in an unauthorized manner, such membership will be revoked after investigation. The meeting has urged leaders and people's representatives at all levels of the party to compulsorily update their membership within the specified time limit.
