The Janamat Party has protested at Maitighar in Kathmandu on Monday, demanding full autonomy for the provinces. The party cadres participating in the protest have demanded full autonomy for the provinces, keeping the personnel administration and local levels under the provinces, determining the constituencies based on population, and bringing the police administration and the Chief District Officer under the provincial government.

Similarly, they have demanded fulfilling the government's commitment to create 1.2 million jobs, ensuring mass recruitment of Madhesi and Tharu communities in the Nepali Army, and allocating the budget in the same proportion to the Terai-Madhesh region, which has 54 percent of the population. They have also urged the government to resolve problems related to foreign employment, provide fertilizers and concessional loans to farmers, stop exploitation and encroachment in the Chure region, and end oppression, exploitation and discrimination against Madhesi, Tharu, Dalit, Muslim, indigenous, nationalities, backward classes, squatters and minority communities.

Janamat Party Vice President and Head of Organization Department Jayakant Raut said that the peaceful protest program was organized symbolically with the aim of reminding the government of its commitment. He said that the government has been drawn to his attention because the government has not been able to implement the issues mentioned in the manifesto of the ruling party, the National Independent Party.
