Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that he will cooperate with the government-formed Asset Investigation Commission by submitting asset details.

At a program organized at the party office in Sanepa on Thursday, President Thapa said that he and other party leaders will cooperate with the government by submitting asset details.

However, he also warned the government that questions may arise in the future about the integrity of the commission formation process and mandate. He said that the government has prioritized corruption control and good governance and that the Congress will provide 100 percent support to all efforts made by the government in accordance with the constitution and law. He also said that the Congress wants the property-related issues of leaders and officials holding public positions to be resolved quickly. He also clarified that the Congress has no comment on the statement made by some judges and leaders saying that they will not submit asset details.

He said, "The main theme of the youth movement last Bhadra was the end of misrule and the beginning of good governance." This is also the main theme of Nepal for the next few years. The elections have just been held. A new government has come out of this. The government has also made controlling corruption and maintaining good governance the most important issues. We will support all the efforts made by the government in accordance with the constitution and law to establish good governance in the country.'

The Balendra Shah-led government had formed a 5-member commission on April 20 under the chairmanship of former Supreme Court Justice Rajendra Kumar Bhandari with the aim of ending corruption and impunity in the country.
