Rashtriya Swatantra Party President Ravi Lamichhane, who is on a visit to India, has met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Lamichhane met with Modi at the Indian Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday afternoon. Mutual relations and bilateral interests were discussed during the meeting. Indian Prime Minister Modi has informed about the meeting through X.

Informing about the meeting, Modi said, 'I am very happy to meet the President of the National Independent Party of Nepal, Mr. Ravi Lamichhane. I welcome and fully support his desire to work closely together for shared prosperity and a bright future.'

Modi also said that Nepal is India's primary partner under the 'Neighborhood First' policy. Modi also said that he is eager to cooperate with the new government to take the special and multifaceted relations between the two countries to a higher level.

Modi was accompanied by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Advisor to the Prime Minister Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri and other high-ranking officials from the Indian side.

The Nepali team that met Modi included President Lamichhane, his wife Nikita Poudel, Joint General Secretary Bipin Acharya, Secretariat member Deepak Bohara and Personal Secretary Pradeep Acharya. Nepal's Acting Ambassador to India Surendra Thapa was also present during the talks.

Lamichhane, who arrived in New Delhi on Monday at the invitation of BJP President Nitin Naveen, has been busy with high-level meetings since Tuesday. On Tuesday, he met top leaders including President Naveen at the BJP headquarters. After that, he also met Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Home Minister Amit Shah. Lamichhane is going to Ayodhya, the birthplace of Ram, in Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday.
