Prime Minister Balendra Shah has asked for time to answer questions from MPs in the House of Representatives. After raising his hand, Speaker DP Aryal gave Prime Minister Shah time to use the rostrum.

In the Sunday meeting of the House of Representatives, Prime Minister Shah had said that he was ready to answer questions. The Prime Minister raised his hand and asked the Speaker for time.

Then Speaker Aryal said, 'Since the Prime Minister has raised his hand, I will give him time. I will allow the Prime Minister to use the rostrum.'

Then Prime Minister Shah reached the rostrum of the Parliament. He said, 'Since the honorable members have been trying to ask questions for many days, I request you to give me time for that.'

Then the Speaker allowed the MPs to ask questions on a party-by-party basis. Earlier, MPs from political parties had protested that it was not in accordance with the rules.

In the past, the Speaker had a practice of setting a time for the question-and-answer program with the Prime Minister.  The practice was for MPs to register questions in writing.
