Concluding that there is a serious challenge to the constitution, democratic system and national independence in the country, the UML has decided to strongly protest against the government's activities.

This was mentioned in the Inter-Party Directive-2 issued by the eighth meeting of the Secretariat chaired by party Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

The UML has accused the current government of adopting politics of revenge, arbitrariness and authoritarianism, claiming that the country is headed towards regression after the incidents of Bhadra 23-24. The UML has called the incidents from the arrest of the party chairman to the interference in democratic forces a continuation of the conspiracy.

'The first task of the new government was focused on taking revenge against the CPN (UML) and the Nepali Congress. The party chairman was arrested illegally and inhumanly for 13 days without any basis and then released on a court order after there was no basis to register a case. But the conspiracy continues. The conspiracy is not only against us, but also against democratic forces,' the party has said.

The UML has accused the National Independent Party-led government of running the government in an arbitrary manner, ignoring the constitution, law, parliament and political parties. The party has also claimed that attempts have been made to control student organizations, professional organizations and the media, and that inhumane treatment has been carried out by using dozers in landless and squatter settlements.

The UML has also decided to intensify the campaign to make the organization people-oriented, disciplined and people-based, admitting that it has lagged behind in the effective use of information technology and social media. The party has expressed its commitment to defend democracy, the constitution, and civil rights and to dismantle the activities of the current government.
