The Far Western Province gathering of the Deuba group held in Dhangadhi on Sunday has stated that renewal of active membership is not necessary.

The gathering said, 'Since the agenda of the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress has been made public by the committee of the 14th General Convention and the active membership has been renewed by organizing organizational activities from the ward level, there is no need to renew active membership again for the 15th General Convention.'

In the context of active membership, the 11-point statement issued by the gathering further states, 'In the context of the 14th General Convention, the renewal work has been completed by paying the membership renewal fee through the elected committees, we are of the opinion that instead of getting involved in unnecessary processes again, we should focus on strengthening the organization, training and mobilizing cadres.'

The gathering, considering the importance and seriousness of the 14th General Convention, emphasized that the 15th General Convention process should be carried forward by uniting the 15th General Convention committee and leaders and activists outside the 14th General Convention committee to give meaning to the saying 'unity is strength'.

The gathering, recalling that the Congress has a history of standing on respect, consensus and intimacy, concluded that the committee established by the special general convention should adopt extreme flexibility to become a 100 percent president instead of a 54 percent president.

While delivering remarks at the gathering, Kamal Bahadur Shah, Ramesh Lekhak, NP Saud, Bir Bahadur Balayar and others emphasized that Sher Bahadur Deuba should be respected.
