The Far Western Province level meeting of the Congress Deuba group has begun in Dhangadhi on Sunday. Deuba supporters have taken the meeting as a show of strength. Before the BHEL, both sides had tried to call and stop the meeting. The
meeting was organized by the Provincial Working Committee under the leadership of Provincial President Bir Bahadur Balayar. The meeting was attended by Ramesh Lekhak, NP Saud, Nainsingh Mahar, Chief Minister of Far Western Province Kamal Bahadur Shah, Provincial Minister for Economic Affairs Bahadur Singh Thapa, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Shivraj Bhatta, Minister for Social Development Meghraj Khadka, National Assembly member and Kailali District President Narayan Dutt Mishra, Khamma Bahadur Khati, former Mayor of Dhangadhi Nrip Bahadur Wad, Deuba supporters district presidents, provincial office bearers and leaders from all nine districts. The Deuba faction has taken the meeting as a show of strength. NP Saud has been made the chief guest of the gathering.
Provincial President Balayar said that the Congress will not run on anyone's arrogance and said that they joined the Congress with the inspiration of Sher Bahadur Deuba. 'We have objections to the renewal of party membership and levies,' he said. 'We will expel those who do not follow the instructions of the Provincial President and the party's standards from the party. We will not sit idly by and those who do not follow our standards will be thrown out.'
The central members elected and nominated from the special general convention are not present at the gathering. A leader in favor of the special general convention said that central members Vijay Swar, Him Rawal, Sunita Rana, Samjhana KC, Nipa Chokhal, Santoshi Airi, Janak Giri, Bharat Khadka, Narendra Bhatt, Jagat Joshi, Virendra Budu and others were not present. Earlier, the provincial gathering was organized in the presence of leaders including President Gagan Thapa. Leaders said that Deuba supporters have now organized a gathering at the counter of the same gathering.
Mohan Basnet, Ishwori Neupane, Rana Bahadur Rawal, former Chief Minister of Koshi Province Kedar Karki, former Finance Minister of Bagmati Province Kundan Raj Kafle, and others are also participating in the gathering.
