Four vice-chairmen of UML have demanded reorganization of the party's policy and leadership. In the central secretariat meeting held in Gundu, Bhaktapur on Friday, vice-chairmen Bishnu Poudel, Gokarna Bista, Prithvisubba Gurung and Raghu Pant said that the election results of 21 Falgun have demanded reorganization of the party's policy and leadership.

Vice-chairman Ram Bahadur Thapa, on the other hand, said that a leader believed that the party should be strengthened under the current leadership.

'Apart from Ram Bahadur Thapa, other vice-chairmen emphasized reorganization by reviewing the leadership and policy,' the leader said, 'Chairman KP Oli also went on to answer the questions raised by the vice-chairmen. In a way, there was a debate in the meeting.'

Only five vice-chairmen spoke in the meeting that started from 12 noon on Thursday and lasted until 6 pm. When the vice-chairmen raised questions about the leadership, Oli replied to them. The leader said that Oli was angry after raising questions about the party's core leadership.

After the meeting, Deputy General Secretary Lekhraj Bhatta said that the five vice-chairmen had reviewed the election. Chairman Oli said that he had added his opinion to the vice-chairman's statement. 'The five vice-chairmen expressed their opinion. The chairman supported them in between,' he said after the meeting.

He said that the vice-chairmen had 'expressed their opinion well'. 'Perhaps this is the first time such a long meeting has been held. The vice-chairmen have presented their views openly,' he said.

Bhatta said that suggestions were received to amend the division of labor of the leaders proposed in the meeting.

Even though the general convention was held last December, the responsibilities of the leaders were not specified. In the proposal made at the central secretariat, Chairman Oli has been given the responsibility of the entire party, Vice-Presidents Ram Bahadur Thapa for good governance, service delivery, Bishnu Poudel for party departments, Prithvi Subba Gurung for social development-related departments, Gokarna Bista for infrastructure, and Raghuji Pant for human resources.

General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has been assigned the responsibility of coordinating party organizational work, central office, Deputy General Secretaries Lekhraj Bhatta for policy and planning, Raghubir Mahaseth for agriculture and entrepreneurship, and Yogesh Bhattarai for policy and planning coordinator. Similarly, there is a proposal to give Secretary Padma Aryal the main responsibility of the parliamentary affairs department.

Among the secretaries, Chhabilal, Vishwakarma, Lumbini in-charge, Khagraj Adhikari has been proposed as Gandaki, Bhanubhakta Dhakal as Organization Department, Yamalal Kandel as Karnali, Sherdhan Rai as Koshi, Rajan Bhattarai as Capital Special, Hikmat Bahadur Karki as National Interest, and Mahesh Basnet as Bagmati In-Charge.
