Opposition parties besiege the House of Representatives

Opposition parties have surrounded the well in the House of Representatives, demanding the presence of Prime Minister Balendra Shah. In the second meeting held on Thursday evening, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal allowed Law Minister Sobita Gautam to present the bill on behalf of the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Science Technology and Innovation Minister Balendra Shah, amid opposition opposition. MPs from UML, CPN, RPP and other parties surrounded the well and started shouting slogans. Congress MPs, on the other hand, rose from their seats and protested. The meeting has been included in the agenda amid opposition slogans. In the first meeting, opposition parties had also protested demanding the presence of the Prime Minister. Speaker Aryal adjourned the meeting for 15 minutes after opposition opposition obstacles persisted in the first meeting.

When the time came to present the bill in the meeting, the opposition parties had demanded a ruling from the Speaker to make Prime Minister Shah present in Parliament. The opposition MPs have summoned the Prime Minister to Parliament in accordance with Rule 56 of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives. The MPs of UML, NCP, Shram Sanskriti and RPP had demanded a ruling from the Speaker to hold a question-and-answer program with the Prime Minister in accordance with Rule 56. 

Rule 56 of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives states, ‘The Speaker shall determine the first hour of the first week of each month for asking questions on important matters directly related to the Prime Minister or his/her area of ​​work.’  

Shram Sanskriti Party Whip Aren Rai had demanded a ruling from the Speaker to summon the Prime Minister to Parliament in accordance with this rule of the Rules.  UML whip Ain Bahadur Mahar, NCP chief whip Yubaraj Dulal, and RPP whip Khushbu Oli had demanded a ruling to summon the Prime Minister to the House to implement the provisions of the rules. After that, the Speaker adjourned the House of Representatives meeting and met the Prime Minister.

The Speaker went to the Prime Minister's Office to meet the Prime Minister. According to the Speaker's secretariat, after meeting the Prime Minister, the Speaker held discussions with the whips of political parties.
