Labor Culture Party Chairman Harkaraj Rai has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Balendra Shah. Speaking at the beginning of the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, he stressed that Prime Minister Shah should come to Parliament and answer.
‘According to Rule 15 (2) of our Rules of Procedure, should the Prime Minister, the leader of the Government of Nepal, come to the House and answer the questions raised by the honorable members and the members of parliament or not? I would like to ask a question. I had asked some questions on 28th and 29th of the first month of 2083. Some were related to the Ministry of Home Affairs, some were related to the Ministry of Defense. Some were related to other ministries. I demand that the Prime Minister come and answer those questions,’ Rai said, ‘Because he has not expanded the Council of Ministers now. Since he is also taking charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs, I also had questions on issues related to peace and security including squatters. And, we have asked various questions related to the border and Lipulekh. I and other MPs. Since he is also handling the Ministry of Defense, the Prime Minister should come to Parliament and answer the questions we have raised.'
He suggested that it would be better if the Prime Minister, who is unable to fulfill his duties, paved the way. 'I want to ask our Prime Minister - is he a member of this Parliament or not? Is there a Parliament in this country or not? Should we all protect this democracy, the dignity of this Parliament or not? Should we fulfill our duties or not? I want to ask this question. If he cannot fulfill his duties, then it would be better if he paved the way.'
Chairman Rai also repeatedly asked Prime Minister Shah whether he should answer the questions raised in Parliament or not.
