Chief Whip of the opposition party NCP, Yubaraj Dulal, has urged the government to be accountable to the parliament. Dulal made the request while participating in the theoretical discussion on the report of the House of Representatives Rules Draft Committee, 2083 on Monday. Chief Whip Dulal also emphasized that the rules should establish the parliamentary system as a place to solve the problems of the people. He said that the parliamentary system is criticized in various countries of the world and that Nepal's parliament needs to be operated in a way that is free from that criticism.
'Even today, in order to address the feelings of the people raised by the people's representatives in the parliament, the government should be accountable to this parliament and the Prime Minister and ministers should also be accountable to the parliament,' he said.
Chief Whip Dulal also pointed out the need to make necessary arrangements to make the Prime Minister and ministers accountable to Parliament.
