The government has announced that it will bring the transitional justice process to a conclusion soon. In the policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year, it has announced that the investigation into human rights violations during the armed conflict will be completed in this fiscal year.

Although the government announced that it would bring the truth and reconciliation and enforced disappearances to a conclusion through the commissions, these commissions are currently without office bearers. The chairpersons and members of two commissions have been relieved of their posts through an ordinance recently introduced by the government.

The announcement to conclude this process, which has been dragging on for about 19 years, was made through the policy and program of the Balendra Shah-led government.
