Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has discussed the internal equation of the party, the current situation of the party and other issues with his close leaders. On Thursday, he called the leaders of his group to the Opera Hotel in Baluwatar, Kathmandu and held a Bagmati Province-level discussion.

The discussion was attended by former central office bearers of the Congress representing Bagmati Province, former central members, district presidents and former presidents, federal and provincial parliamentarians, as well as office bearers and members of the provincial working committee. The gathering, which had about 123 participants, is said to have focused on the current situation of the party, internal equation and future strategy.

The leaders participating in the discussion had raised the issue of active membership management, especially targeting the 15th general convention. They have opposed the proposal to renew the membership that has already been renewed, saying that it is not practical. Who participated in the gathering called by Congress leader Shekhar Koirala?

Similarly, the conclusion was also drawn in the discussion that the expected unity within the party could not be maintained due to the special general convention. The participants believed that the responsibility of moving the party forward in a unified manner lies with the leadership and that the chairman should take the initiative in this regard.

Leaders including Shashank Koirala, Dhanraj Gurung, NP Saud, Jeevan Pariyar and others expressed their views in the discussion.

It is said that the program was organized with the aim of defining a common vision and strategy within the group, keeping in mind the latest political situation in the country and the party.
