Nepali Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government's process of passing an ordinance by bypassing the House is against democracy.

Speaking at a press conference organized in Musikot, the district headquarters of Rukum West, today, he warned the government not to make such a mistake as the method of passing an ordinance by suspending the session of the House is against democracy, constitutional norms and traditions.

Dahal also demanded that the government stop it immediately, saying that the government's attempt to curb trade unions and student movements in violation of the current constitutional system, traditions and international norms could be a journey towards autocracy.

Reacting to the government's eviction of squatter settlements, he said, "The government has done absolutely wrong by using bulldozers to hurt the poor and the destitute without knowing the real identity of the squatters and their alternative management."

Saying that the recently concluded general election was not normal and natural, Coordinator Dahal said that reports from many places have raised different kinds of doubts. "Those who should have won have lost, those who should have lost have won. And in many places, it was heard that they did not even get the votes they cast. Therefore, this election is not normal and natural like other times," he said.

Stating that his party is now preparing for the general convention to complete the remaining work of unity, Dahal said that he plans to hold the general convention from November 11 to 15 and to move forward in a new way by completing conventions at various levels before that.
