The Prime Minister's political advisor, Asim Shah, has defended the ordinance brought by the government, claiming that it was not for any vested interest but for the benefit of the citizens. On social media, he defended the ordinance and claimed that the government brought the ordinance for governance reforms in accordance with the spirit of the mandate.
'The government has taken important steps to remove policy complications in public service delivery and the administrative system. On the recommendation of the Council of Ministers meeting on April 14, 2083, Honorable President Ram Chandra Poudel has been sent to certify the ordinances. Soon after the formation of the current government, the President of the ruling party, the National Independent Party (NISP), had called on the officials who received political appointments to pave the way for governance reforms in accordance with the spirit of the new mandate,' he wrote. 'Despite that request, the government has chosen this legal path to address the practical difficulties seen in work performance and coordination. This will make it easier to establish a result-oriented governance system by ending the obstacles (deadlocks) seen in work performance.'
This ordinance has been brought to ensure good governance to the people by making decisions of public concern within a certain time frame, he argues . It will end the delays in public interest work due to old and complex legal provisions, he said .
‘The government’s goal is to identify procedural problems that have been entangled for decades in the past and find sustainable and scientific solutions to them. These ordinances have not been brought for the interests of any individual or group, but purely for the benefit of the citizens and the effectiveness of the state machinery,’ he wrote. ‘By embracing the democratic belief that public interest work should not be stopped due to legal complications, it has laid a strong foundation to further accelerate the country’s journey to prosperity.’
