Nepal Tarun Dal President Vidhan Gurung has resigned from his post. He announced his resignation through a letter addressed to the Nepali Congress Central Working Committee.
In the letter, Gurung expressed gratitude for the responsibility given to him on 1 Falgun 2079 and mentioned that he had worked honestly towards the party and the organization throughout his tenure. He also said that he has tried to increase coordination and activism from the central committee to the district and local levels to make Tarun Dal dynamic and strong.
According to him, although it was necessary to hold the fifth general convention on time, it was not possible due to various political circumstances. He said that he decided to step down with the conclusion that new leadership was needed to make the organization more dynamic in the current situation.
Gurung emphasized that Tarun Dal should be moved forward by making it committed to the party's core ideology, organization and discipline. He also pointed out the need for unity, trust and a clear line of action within the organization and expressed confidence that the new leadership would fulfill that role in the coming days.
At the end of the letter, he expressed his hope that "in the coming days, the Nepali Congress Party will move forward with a more solid political vision and clear direction of action, establishing it with complete ideas."
