Dahal says: 'Perhaps when we were in power, when we were sitting in the chair, a lot of dirt was accumulating inside us. It's not that the people hate us now, it's that the people have taught us to wash ourselves and come back.'

NCP coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the people have punished them for their weaknesses and distortions during their time in power through elections.
At a program organized on the occasion of the Nepal Communist Party's foundation day on Wednesday, Dahal admitted that filth was accumulating within the party while it was in power.
Dahal also said that the communist movement has temporarily suffered a setback.
'Perhaps a lot of filth was accumulating within us when we were in power, while sitting on the chair. It is not that the people hate us now, but the people have taught us to come back after washing our hands,' Dahal said. 'Therefore, we should take this as an opportunity to clean up the filth and improve it.'
He said that the communists have the ability to admit mistakes and make corrections.
