The meeting of the Nepali Congress Central Disciplinary Committee has asked the then Vice President of the party, Purna Bahadur Khadka, to submit an explanation within 7 days.
The meeting held today at BP Smriti Bhawan in Lalitpur under the coordination of the committee coordinator Taraman Gurung decided to demand an explanation, concluding that Khadka had issued a press release using the party's fake letterpad without authorization.
The meeting concluded that Khadka had already been warned and that the same nature of activity had been repeated. According to the committee, Khadka had issued press releases on Chaitra 14, 2082 and then again on Chaitra 30, using a fake letterpad, claiming that he was in charge of the party.
The committee stated that such an act was against the party statute and decided to seek an explanation within 7 days as per Clause 8 (d) of Article 34 of the Nepali Congress Statute 2017 (with amendments).
Meanwhile, the deadline for filing complaints regarding incidents of party members violating discipline during the 2082 House of Representatives member elections has also been extended. The committee has decided to extend the deadline of mid-Chait 2082 to mid-Baisakh 2083.
The committee has clarified that action will be taken only on complaints received within the new deadline and no further action will be taken on complaints received after that.
