President Ram Chandra Poudel has said that we need to move forward unitedly to strengthen the democratic republic.
Addressing both houses of parliament on Friday, he said that we need to forget the bitterness of the past and move forward.
‘To achieve the common goal of strengthening the democratic republic in the country, promoting national unity and achieving economic prosperity, we need to move forward unitedly, not by dividing, not by reciting the bitterness of the past, but by learning from it,’ he said. ‘I call on the entire Nepali people, people’s representatives, political parties and state machinery to move forward unitedly on the journey of good governance, development and prosperity by embracing democratic values, norms and ideals, and I express my confidence that the sovereign parliament will succeed in voicing the aspirations of the Nepali people for freedom, social justice, good governance and prosperity.’
