The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has announced its candidacy for the post of Deputy Speaker, while the Shram Sanskriti Party (SSP) has already submitted its nomination papers.

According to the constitutional provisions, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker must be from different parties. One of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker must be a woman. Since a male Speaker has been elected, the Deputy Speaker must be a woman.
