Prime Minister Balendra Shah has recently formed groups of directly elected members of the House of Representatives and called them to Singha Durbar according to their provinces. During that meeting, he discussed the status of development projects in the constituency. However, Prime Minister Shah has not called the members of the House of Representatives who came from the proportional electoral system.

Thus, the issue of discrimination between members of the House of Representatives who were elected directly and through the proportional electoral system has been raised in the House of Representatives meeting from the level of Prime Minister Shah. UML MP Tukabhadra Hamal said that Prime Minister Shah has discriminated against proportional MPs.

MP Hamal questioned Prime Minister Shah in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday. ‘Why is there discrimination between the honorable members elected through the direct election system and the proportional election system?’ MP Hamal asked, ‘I have heard that the Prime Minister has given the opportunity to meet the MPs elected through the direct election system and discuss the issue of development. But why are the MPs elected through the proportional election system deprived of that opportunity?’

MP Hamal had urged Prime Minister Shah not to discriminate against the proportional MPs.

Similarly, MP Hamal had claimed that UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak were illegally detained. She also demanded the immediate unconditional release of former Prime Minister Oli and former Home Minister Lekhak.
