The lawmaker of the National Independent Party, which is leading the government, has called former Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, who is in police custody, a 'criminal'.

In the meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, RSP MP Purushottam Suprabhat Yadav called former Prime Minister and UML Chairman Oli a 'criminal'. MP Yadav also accused Oli, who is in a hospital bed, of spreading 'bad ideas' in the parliament.  UML lawmakers have been opposing the arrest of Chairman and former Prime Minister Oli and former Home Minister and Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak since the first day of the House of Representatives on Chaitra 19.

RSP MP Yadav, however, said that Oli should be in prison, not in the hospital.  'The same ghost that deceived Comrade Oli seems to have deceived Comrade Badal today.  Therefore, I strongly demand from the government that a ghost-removing device be arranged,’ Yadav said, ‘Because, today, the criminal who should have been inside the prison door is in the hospital bed. From that bed, bad thoughts are being sent to this esteemed house.’

MP Yadav said that the Gen-G movement held on Bhadra 23 and 24 was for justice, equality and rights. ‘I want to make it clear in this esteemed house today why the Gen-G movement was held, the demand of this movement for justice, equality and rights should never be forgotten. This government was built on the sacrifices of that bloody movement,’ he asked, ‘When will employment of the Gen-G injured be ensured? And, when will the deceased’s family get justice?’

During the Gen-G movement, Prime Minister Oli and the writer, who was in the post of Home Minister, were arrested on the morning of Bhadra 14. Oli is currently receiving treatment in hospital under police custody. Oli and the writer were found guilty in the report of the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led commission formed to investigate the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24. The Supreme Court has ordered their release from custody by Thursday.

MP Yadav was an activist during the Gen-G movement. He had taken permission from the Kathmandu District Administration to hold a peaceful protest. Later, he became a proportional representation MP from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
