The first meeting of the 'Constitutional Amendment Discussion Paper Preparation Task Force-2082' formed by the Balendra Shah-led government is scheduled to be held at 3 pm today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
The task force was formed under the coordination of the Prime Minister's Chief Political Advisor Asim Shah in a meeting held on Chaitra 16, 2082.
Representatives of various political parties are members of the task force. Mohan Acharya from the National Independent Party, Dr. Bhishmanath Adhikari from the CPN (UML), Constituent Assembly member and former Law Minister Dev Prasad Gurung from the CPN, Parliamentary Party leader Gyanendra Shahi from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and General Secretary Manoj Bhatta from the Rastriya Janamorcha are members.
Similarly, Pushkar Sapkota, Law Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, and Indira Dahal, Secretary of the Nepal Law Commission are also members of the task force. Liladhar Subedi, Chief of the Law and Judgment Implementation Division under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, is the member-secretary of the task force.
Nepali Congress, Shram Sanskriti Party, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, Nepal are holding internal discussions on sending their representatives. These parties are expected to finalize the names of members for the task force, possibly today.
