The chairmen of four parliamentary committees under the National Assembly have taken the oath of office and secrecy. Speaker of the Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal administered the oath of office and secrecy to all four parliamentary committee chairmen at a program organized at the Federal Parliament Secretariat on Wednesday.

The election of the chairmen of the four committees of the National Assembly was held on Tuesday. All four chairmen were elected unanimously. The Congress, NCP and JSP Nepal had reached an agreement on the chairmen of the committees.

Accordingly, Krishna Prasad Poudel of the Congress was elected as the chairmen of the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee, and Krishna Bahadur Rokaya of the Congress was elected as the chairmen of the Legislative Management Committee.

Pooja Chaudhary of the Hon'ble JSP Nepal was elected as the chairmen of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee, and Jayanti Devi Rai of the NCP was elected unopposed as the chairmen of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee.

UML's Lila Kumari Bhandari was elected unopposed as the Vice President of the National Assembly. The posts of Vice President and four committee chairpersons fell vacant after the National Assembly elections held on Magh 11.

The vacant posts were shared among the parties represented in the National Assembly, the Congress, the CPN (Maoist), the UML and the JSP Nepal.
