UML has said that it will protest if the government obstructs the rule of law. UML said in an all-party meeting held at Singha Durbar on Monday that the rule of law should be given priority. UML MP Guru Baral said that they have emphasized that all activities within the rule of law should be in accordance with the law.
'We demand the rule of law, any activities within the rule of law should be in accordance with the law. We do not dispute the issue of compliance with the law. We will work to strengthen it, but where there is a violation of the law, where the rule of law is questioned, it is a serious matter, we will raise our voice on that issue,' MP Baral said. He also said that the fundamental rights of citizens, political rights, and rights related to the right to equality granted by the constitution should be exercised correctly. He further said, 'The government should not create any obstacles in that regard, if they do, we will protest.'
It has been decided in the all-party meeting held on Monday to form a 15-member task force to amend the House of Representatives regulations. The task force will include the participation of the parties present in the House of Representatives. The meeting also decided to form a 21-member Business Advisory Committee.
