Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC has claimed that the leader of the party's parliamentary party will be selected by consensus. While answering questions from media persons at the Federal Parliament building on Monday, leader KC said that the process of selecting the party's parliamentary party leader has been delayed because he has to play the role of Speaker as the senior member of the Federal Parliament.
He said that the meeting of the Congress office bearers has also had to delay the decision necessary to select the party leader since the person holding the responsibility of Speaker is not allowed to participate in the party's activities.
'We are holding a meeting of our parliamentary party tomorrow. We will finalize it within 2-3 days. This is not a very big and complicated issue. It is natural for there to be claims on the party leader. Whatever decisions we make by integrating everyone's claims, we make them by consensus,' he said.
Leader KC also responded that he felt that since the Speaker is a dignified position, he had to play a role in a way that protects the privileges of the Parliament.
