The Nepali Congress has informed the lawmakers about the new provision that allows them to recall their proportional representation lawmakers at any time. In the 'Parliamentary Awareness Program', Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma reminded them about such a provision in the party statute. During the event, he read out Section 40 of the statute amended by the special general convention. That section contains provisions related to the Nepali Congress parliamentary party. It has four sub-sections. The explanation section after the fourth sub-section states - 'In order to make the parliamentary responsibility of being a candidate from the party and becoming a member of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly under the proportional representation system effective and accountable - the party may recall a proportional representation lawmaker at any time if he acts against the prevailing law, if he acts against the party's directives and values, or if his performance evaluation is not satisfactory.'

The party will soon formulate a guideline for the implementation of the said arrangement after considering the suggestions of the MPs, said Deputy Chairman Sharma in the 'Parliamentary Awareness Program'.

Orientation was given to the newly elected MPs of the House of Representatives at the Congress party office in Sanepa.

In the House of Representatives elections, 18 people have been elected directly from the Congress and 20 from the proportional representation.
